Nintendo announced in November 2023 that it was teaming up with Sony Pictures to work on a live action movie based on The Legend of Zelda. We now know exactly when that movie is going to release.
Taking to the recently released first-party news app Nintendo Today (caught by VGC), the company announced that The Legend of Zelda will release in theaters worldwide a couple of years from now, on March 26, 2027.
As previously announced, the Legend of Zelda live action film is set to be directed by Wes Bell of Maze Runner and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes fame. Avi Arad, best known for his work on Spider-Man, X-Men, Venom, Uncharted, and more, is also attached as producer.
Further details on the movie – such as casting or story details – are currently unknown, but it hopefully won’t be too long before that information begins trickling through. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
