Businesses across Ireland and Europe can now take advantage of a powerful new tool designed to help cut energy costs and enhance sustainability. The REEValue.eu platform, developed as part of the EU co-funded LIFE REEValue project, has now launched, aimed at businesses of all sizes and industries, with a particular focus on SMEs with high energy consumption in the food and beverage manufacturing, transport and logistics sectors.
With energy prices at all-time highs and sustainability a business imperative, this timely and practical online service allows companies to lower costs and reduce their environmental impact with free one-on-one support.
Dr Alicia Mateos-Cárdenas, the REEValue & Sustainability lead at Cork Chamber, added: “The REEValue platform is designed to empower businesses with the insights and resources they need to transition towards more sustainable operations. By combining data-driven recommendations with financial support options, we are helping businesses take meaningful steps toward reducing their energy consumption and carbon footprint.”
Developed in collaboration with international experts across Belgium, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Malta and Portugal, REEValue is a major milestone in helping businesses transition to low-cost, low-carbon operations.
The platform includes a quick online self-assessment that takes under 15 minutes and provides tailored carbon footprints and energy-saving recommendations based on each business’s specific needs. It draws from a database of over 500 energy audit recommendations in 9 key energy-related categories, such as lighting, refrigeration or fleet management. It then connects businesses with the many green grants available to support sustainability investments.
Conor Molloy, REEValue Consortium partner at AEMS ECOfleet said, “With 20 years’ experience helping businesses reduce costs and CO2 in Ireland, we made sure that REEValue.eu would be easy to use, very user-friendly and help businesses save money.”
Conor Healy, CEO of Cork Chamber, added, “The launch of the REEValue platform is a significant step forward in supporting businesses on their journey to energy efficiency and cost savings. In today’s economic climate, reducing energy costs is crucial for competitiveness, and this free tool offers businesses the insights and resources they need to take action. At Cork Chamber, we are committed to driving sustainable business solutions and REEValue is a prime example of how collaboration and innovation can deliver real impact.”
In Ireland, Cork Chamber has led the platform’s development, ensuring it meets the needs of Irish companies nationwide. The REEValue.eu platform is completely free, providing a cost-effective way for businesses to act on their new or past energy audits. While it does not replace an energy audit, each country lead acts as a direct support, linking businesses to expert consultants and ensuring that organisations receive further and detailed guidance where needed.
