To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., Nintendo has announced Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2. Launching on October 2nd for the original Switch, they’ll be available separately for $39.99 each and in a physical and digital bundle for $69.99.
While supporting 1080p on Switch, Switch 2 users can experience both titles in 4K resolution. They also include additional Storybook Chapters, improved menus and UIs, amiibo support, and even a new Assist Mode. The latter features added health and fall recovery to help ease new players in.
There’s also Soundtrack Mode for listening to the incredible orchestral scores in-game. Best of all, unlike Super Mario 3D All-Stars, these won’t be available for a limited time (at least, for now).
Stay tuned for more details in the weeks and check out the latest trailer for the next Super Mario Bros. movie, fittingly called The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. It releases on April 3rd, 2026, in theaters.
