Suikoden is finally set to make its long-awaited return with the imminent release of Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster. For fans of the RPG franchise, however, there’s more to look forward to beyond that.
At its recent “Special Program’ broadcast, Konami announced Suikoden STAR LEAP, a new entry in the franchise, for iOS and Android devices. Developed by Mythril, the game will be free-to-play, which means it will feature microtransactions. Further details on how that’ll work haven’t yet been shared.
That said, Suikoden STAR LEAP will feature several elements that fans of the franchise will find familiar, including turn-based combat, a story revolving around meeting and befriending 108 stars, a retro pixel art aesthetic, and more. Players will play as the son of a village chief who, in company of their allies, will have to embark on a quest to return peace and stability to their home. Check out its announcement trailer below.
A release date hasn’t been announced for Suikoden STAR LEAP.
