Skillnet Ireland has announced a €1m call, inviting industry groups across the country to establish new business networks.
The national talent development agency is inviting industrial bodies or enterprise groups which can future-proof businesses by developing talent in artificial intelligence adoption, climate action, workforce innovation, as well as in other strategic sectors.
The agency already has 70 such business networks, including in aviation, construction, greentech and medtech, as well as networks dedicated to specific regions in the country. It provides employees with programmes to enhance business competitiveness and innovation.
Chambers Ireland, Ibec, Technology Ireland, Tech Industry Alliance and Small Firms Association are just some of the 57 industry bodies that Skillnet Ireland partners with to support its business networks.
Last year, the agency was ranked first in the world for best practice in enterprise upskilling initiatives by the European Commission.
“Developing a future-ready workforce is a core priority for every business leader. The Skillnet Ireland network model allows companies of all sizes to access high-impact, industry-led upskilling,” said Dave Flynn, the director of business networks at Skillnet Ireland.
“We are calling on business groups or clusters to take the next step and partner with us to establish a Skillnet business network for your sector, region or thematic area. This is a powerful opportunity to develop talent that will deliver measurable value for the businesses you support.”
Patricia Callan, the head of sectors and the director of Financial Services Ireland group at Ibec said: “Financial Services Ireland established the IFS (International Financial Services) Skillnet, on behalf of our members in the international financial services industry, with a steering group of industry leaders, to deliver employer-led world class training.
“It’s been a hugely valuable resource for our sector and enhances Ireland’s reputation as a global financial services centre.
“The IFS Skillnet is contributing towards building a strong pipeline of skilled professionals to build competitiveness for business and underpin Ireland’s economy.”
