Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S series is arguably the main rival to Apple’s ubiquitous iPad.
Although the Tab S10 series wasn’t unveiled along with other devices at this July’s Galaxy Unpacked, Samsung’s upcoming Android tablets are expected debut soon.
Here’s everything we know so far about the Galaxy Tab S10 from the expected launch date to specs.
When will the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 be released?
At the recent Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung revealed several new products, including Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra. Unfortunately, the much-anticipated Galaxy Tab S10 series was missing among them.
However, a Samsung South Africa representative confirmed to Android Authority that the Tab S10 series is in development and will be released before the end of the year, before the expected Galaxy S25 series launch in January 2025.
According to leaker Ross Young on X (formerly Twitter), production will begin in August ahead of an expected launch in October:
Although we still do not know the exact release date, earlier models may give us an idea. Here’s when they first entered the world stage:
As you can see, for the most part the new tablets arrive in August. The Tab S8 series deviated from this pattern, but it seems that a return to the late summer schedule is on the cards for 2024.
If you were interested in the FE or Lite versions, these tend to come out a little later than the main models. Here’s how they’ve recently lined up:
The range does seem a bit more haphazard than the standard models, with Samsung jumping the Tab S8 series entirely and releasing the Tab S7 FE a year after the Tab S7 launched. At the moment we don’t know if we’ll see an FE model in 2024, but it doesn’t look all that likely so far.

How much will the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 cost?
With the tablet market getting even more competitive in recent years thanks to releases from the likes of Xiaomi and Huawei, it would be prudent for Samsung to keep prices lean to stave off these rivals. With that in mind, we think you may well see similar costs to those of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 range.
Here’s what you will most likely need to pay:
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 prices
- 128GB – Wi-Fi: $799/£799

What features will the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 have?
As Samsung is yet to confirm any details about its upcoming tablets, we don’t have any official word on what to expect with the Galaxy Tab S10 range.
There has also been a paucity of rumours, so the new devices remain something of a mystery. We can look to the previous models though to come up with what we think Samsung might have up its sleeves for its next generation of tablets.
No regular model
While there have indeed been quite a few rumours about the Galaxy Tab S10 series so far, one of the latest is quite big if it turns out to be true.
According to the post on the Korean site Naver (via GSMArena) Samsung might skip the regular Galaxy Tab S10 and introduce only the Plus and Ultra models. This shift might take place likely due to introducing the cheaper Galaxy Tab S9 FE and lower sales of the basic Galaxy Tab S9 last year.
In a reply related to the production beginning in August, leaker Ross Young also suggested there might not be a regular model:
Design & display
There’s not really a lot that Samsung can do in terms of design changes when it comes to the S10 range.
Function seems to overrule form when it comes to this kind of device, and the company already added S-Pen charging anywhere on the rear with the Tab S9 models, plus an IP68 waterproof rating across the range.
In our Galaxy Tab S9 review, we did point out that the edges could be smoother to allow a more comfortable grip, so that could be something we see in the Tab S10. Otherwise, don’t expect too much in the aesthetics department.

Recently, we’ve got a closer look at how the Tab S10 Ultra might look like and it seems to confirm what we wrote above.
According to renders from Android Headlines, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra closely resembles the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra in terms of design and dimensions, measuring approximately 326.4 x 208.6 x 5.45mm, nearly identical to its predecessor.
The tablet might maintain its ultra-thin profile, quad speakers, right-side power and volume buttons, and magnetic S-Pen charging on the back. It might also continue to feature a 14.6-inch display, dual front and rear cameras, and a display notch.
Additionally, GSMArena reports that “the Galaxy Tab S10+ will have a 12.4-inch screen, while the Ultra will take things even further with a 14.9-inch display. The two will have very similar designs.”
Specs & performance
The current S9 Samsung tablets are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, as are the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra phones.
But with the new Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra all moving up to the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform (with the Ultra getting the overclocked ‘for Galaxy’ variant), this should denote that the Tab S10 devices also get the upgrade.
However, according the lastest Geekbench runs for Tab S10+ (via GSMArena), and Tab S10 Ultra (also via GSMArena), the whole Tab S10 series will feature two models powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+ chipset, deviating from the traditional use of Snapdragon chips.

The 8-core CPU is said to include four Cortex-X4 cores (one at 3.4GHz and three at 2.85GHz) and four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.0GHz. The GPU is an Immortalis-G720, although its performance has not been tested in Geekbench. In terms of connectivity, the tablets will feature Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and optional 5G connectivity supporting both sub-6GHz and mmWave.
The standard models might come with 12GB of RAM, similar to the Tab S9 series. There will likely be a 16GB RAM variant available in select regions too, potentially paired with 1TB of storage.
The Dimensity 9300+ is expected to outperform the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chip. Samsung’s switch to the Dimensity 9300+ could offer a performance boost and cost savings compared to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips, potentially making the tablets more competitive in both performance and price.
Cameras
The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra is expected to maintain its top-tier camera capabilities, featuring a dual rear camera setup similar to the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, which includes a 13Mp wide-angle and 8Mp ultrawide lens. For the front, dual 12Mp cameras might be a case.

The Galaxy Tab S10+ is also likely to inherit its predecessor’s camera system with a dual 13Mp wide and 8Mp ultrawide rear cameras, along with a single 12Mp front camera.
Given the importance of AI in the cameras of the Galaxy S24 series, it’s plausible that Samsung will integrate AI enhancements into the Galaxy Tab S10 lineup as well.
Battery & charging
If Samsung maintains the design of its upcoming tablets, we can expect similar batteries to the Galaxy Tab S9 series. With a more powerful chip, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and S10+ should offer improved battery life.
For charging, they will likely continue with 45W support, but we hope Samsung introduces even faster charging for the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra.
Software
The Galaxy Tab S10 series is likely to debut with One UI 6, based on Android 14. Galaxy AI is also very likely.
