The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra could feature a much anticipated and indeed record breaking specification, though fans of other flagship smartphone brands will be deeply unimpressed.
According to reliable tipster Ice Universe, Samsung’s next flagship phone, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, could finally exceed the 45W wired charging mark and “Achieve the fastest charging speed in Samsung’s history”.
Nice of you to join us, Samsung
Samsung’s best phones (most recently the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra) have been stuck at this relatively humble 45W mark for several years now, so this would be quite the turn up for the books.
Of course, rivals such as the OnePlus 13 and the Honor Magic 7 Pro are capable of 100W wired charging, so Samsung definitely finds itself falling behind in this department.
Still, with the recent Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 stuck with a brutally slow (at least for a £1,800 phone) 25W standard, we’re grateful for any glimpse of progress.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra rumours
Previous rumours have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will be powered by a custom version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip.
This new ‘For Galaxy’ version of the chip could very well be fabricated by Samsung itself, using the company’s cutting edge 2nm process. This could technically make the Galaxy S26 Ultra faster, or at least more efficient, than its flagship rivals running on a prospective 3nm TSMC version of the chip.
Reports suggest that Samsung could be set other ditch the Plus model from its next range, introducing the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge as the new model that slots in between the Samsung Galaxy S26 and the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
