We may finally have a firm launch date for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone.
So far, the official teases and decidedly unofficial rumours have been pouring forth concerning Samsung’s forthcoming super-skinny Samsung Galaxy S25 variant.
We know it’s coming, and we broadly know what it’s going to look and perform like. We even had a pretty strong inkling that it would be announced some time in April.
But pinning the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge down to a precise date is proving a little tougher – until now.
When will the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge be released?
South Korean website Sedaily may have just done us all a favour, if its latest report is accurate. According to the website, Samsung will hold a special online Unpacked event for the Galaxy S25 Edge on 16 April.
As for actual availability, the source claims that Samsung will release the Galaxy S25 Edge some time in May.
The website claims that this date has been chosen to give Samsung the lead in a brand new device category.

How the Galaxy S25 Edge will get ahead of the competition
We’re hearing a number of rumours about various devices that combine a super-slim form factor with flagship-approximate specifications.
The iPhone 17 Air is likely going to be Samsung’s main contender for the crown, but an April launch would offer Samsung a good five month head start.
That’s assuming the iPhone 17 Air launches alongside the rest of the iPhone 17 family during Apple’s typical launch window.
Any other Galaxy S25 Edge details?
The aforementioned report claims that the Galaxy S25 Edge will launch in just three colours: light blue, black, and silver, and that there’ll be a limited initial batch of 40,000 units made available.
It sounds very much like Samsung is entering the market tentatively with this new fourth Galaxy phone format, much as it did with its first foldables.
