A remake of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion has been in the rumour mill for a while now, and more evidence continues to point to it actually being a real thing. Past reports have claimed that a remake of the title is in the works at Virtuos, with the studio allegedly using an Unreal Engine 5 pipeline to develop the title.
Now, the LinkedIn profile of a Virtuous employee seems to be lending weight to those rumours as well. On his profile, Oleksii Moskovchenko – who’s a technical art director at Virtuos’ Shanghai studio – claims that he is working on a currently unannounced remake built on Unreal Engine 5. He also claims the title will release for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, suggesting that Microsoft is set to continue its string of multiplatform releases- which shouldn’t come as a surprise at this point.
Leaks in December claimed that Microsoft and Bethesda could be gearing up to announce the Oblivion remake at the rumoured Xbox Developer Direct presentation planned for January, with a release set to follow sometime later this year itself. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days.
