Xbox is officially entering the handheld console space with the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X. While it didn’t announce prices or a release date, it touted a Holiday release window. However, it could arrive somewhat sooner than expected.
Leaker eXtas1s recently reported that the handheld will open pre-orders in August, followed by a launch in October. The ROG Xbox Ally is allegedly $499, while the Xbox Ally X will cost $799. Jez Corden of Windows Central is now corroborating the release window while revealing a tentative launch later in the month.
A price point is still seemingly undecided, allegedly due to the US tariff situation. Microsoft could be waiting to see if things settle down before opening pre-orders. Perhaps it will open pre-orders during Gamescom while allowing attendees to go hands-on.
You can learn more about the ROG Xbox Ally here. If the rumors are true, this narrows down the release window for Hollow Knight: Silksong, which is confirmed to arrive before the Holidays (and the handheld’s launch). Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.
