ROCKFORD (WREX) — You may discover a pair new storefronts should you head to downtown Rockford.
Smiley’s Classic and The Midwest Rustic each opened their doorways within the first few days of April.
Smiley’s Classic is within the second flooring of Rockford’s Indoor Market off of Madison Road. The shop makes a speciality of 80s and 90s clothes. These retro appears lengthen from sports activities jerseys to live performance shirts to crew necks and jackets.

The Midwest Rustic is on the 200 block of East State Road and is a collective effort of native artists. Proprietor Brianna Zahn says COVID impressed her and plenty of different artists to completely put money into their ardour, and she or he wished to have an area for herself and others to pursue these goals.

“The extra I’ve gone downtown, the extra I fell in love with it,” Smiley stated. “I all the time knew my store needed to be downtown and I wished to be a key a part of rising downtown and making it a good higher place.”
“Yesterday we had so many native companies come into the shop and it actually introduced tears to my eyes,” Zahn stated.
The Midwest Rustic is open Tuesday by Saturday from ten within the morning to 6 at evening.
Smiley’s Classic is open Tuesday by Thursday from midday to 6 at evening and Saturday from 10 within the morning until 5 within the night.
Each can have expanded Friday hours throughout Rockford Metropolis Market.
