The FA Cup got underway in a thrilling extra preliminary round weekend of action and there were as many as 17 upsets by Saturday afternoon.

We have to talk about something. The social media admin on Congleton Town’s Twitter page hasn’t taken their 4-1 defeat to Bury very well it seems.

One user said: “Nowt like being gracious in defeat.”

To which a tweet was posted on the Congleton Twitter page: “Thing is James everyone in the world of football detest you. Even your own fans hate each other, Enjoy the NWCFL for the next few seasons.”

They later added: “We would like to apologise for the post earlier in a heat of the moment and we have deleted and would like to apologies for any hurt or upset caused. We wish you all the best for rest of the season.”
