Rasmus Hojlund’s actions after his international stint with Denmark speak volumes following his loan transfer from Manchester United to Napoli. The 22-year-old sealed a season-long loan deal to the Serie A champions on deadline day, with Antonio Conte’s squad agreeing an option to purchase the forward if he shines this season.

United and Ruben Amorim could pocket around £38million if Napoli secure a Champions League spot. The Danish striker will be keen to make a good first impression as he returns to Serie A after 832 days. away.

Hojlund travelled 800 kilometres from Greece after Denmark’s 3-0 victory in their World Cup qualifying match. He scored Denmark’s third goal in the 81st minute, assisted by ex-United teammate Patrick Dorgu.

“I’ve been looking forward to this opportunity, I’m very, very grateful and I’m going to do my best to make us win something this year again, and to do the fans and club proud.”
