The new premises will enable the company to keep pace with the adoption of AI, through applied R&D and engineering work.

US data management, cybersecurity and platform modernisation company, Quest Software has opened a new Centre for Advanced AI Architecture in Cork.

Supported by IDA Ireland, the new location will empower Quest Software to take advantage of the surge in AI adoption through applied research and development, engineering work and “first-of-a-kind innovations”.

While it is currently unknown exactly how many new roles the expansion might generate, Quest Software has stated, “This centre is about building long-term engineering capability and recruitment is already underway. Over time, the centre is expected to support around 100 roles, including AI engineering leads, software engineers, data scientists and programme managers, with positions posted publicly on the Quest Software careers website as they open.”

Founded in 1987, Quest Software has a strong global presence, with its Ireland offices in Dublin and Cork. The teams in Cork will work across AI engineering, data science, cybersecurity and software development to advance priorities and strengthen Quest’s products in these areas.

As part of its expansion, Quest Software plans to collaborate with Irish universities to develop courses, training programmes and skills development opportunities focused on AI and cybersecurity for people interested in pursuing technology careers.

Tim Page, the CEO at Quest Software said, “This investment strengthens our growth and supports the work we are doing to advance our products for the AI era and help us deliver AI that customers can trust. By investing in technology and talent, and partnering with local universities and research institutions, we can help develop the next generation of AI and cybersecurity professionals.”

Dónal Travers, the executive director of IDA Ireland added, “This project positions Quest at the forefront of enterprise AI transformation, delivering technically differentiated solutions that offer global impact. I wish to congratulate the Quest team and assure them of IDA Ireland’s continued support and partnership.”

IDA recently supported US health-tech RxSense as it opened its first European office in Dublin, announcing 75 full-time engineering and product roles to be created over the next two years.
