Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Has Sold Just 1 Million Units – Rumour

In spite of being one of the most highly acclaimed games of the year, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has failed to sell as much as Ubisoft had expected it would.

Though Ubisoft has yet to officially unveil sales figures for the title, Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson has claimed in a report that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has only managed to sell approximately a million units so far, since releasing in January.

Henderson claims that Ubisoft internally expected the game to sell “millions of units in a relatively short space of time”, at a pace similar to other big Metroidvania titles, though the game has failed to meet the company’s expectations.

Shortly after it came out, it was reported that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown had only managed to sell around 300,000 units in its first couple of weeks, in spite of widespread critical acclaim.

It was recently reported that The Lost Crown’s development team had been disbanded after a pitch for a sequel was rejected. Members of the title’s development team have allegedly been reassigned to several different projects, including a Rayman remake. Read more on that through here.
