Game Freak has revealed more details about the upcoming Mega Dimension DLC for Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Rather than going deep into the new features, however, the developer has instead revealed one of the new Mega Evolutions that will be coming to the title on December 10 – Mega Zeraora. The Pokémon was shown off with a small clip that indicates that it will be particularly challenging to obtain. Check it out below.
“It looks like getting Mega Zeraora for your team will be a little difficult,” wrote the developer in the trailer’s description. “Keep your eyes peeled for a way to encounter it as you play through the DLC!”
Along with this, the developer has also revealed a few details about Mega Zeraora through its official description, which discusses its capability of holding on to electric energy, as well as how its physiological features could be used in a Pokémon battle. Check out the official description of Mega Zeraora below.
“The electric energy it stores in its body is equivalent to 10 bolts of lightning. Protrusions on its forehead, chest, back, and the backs of its hands are where the electric energy is particularly concentrated. The protrusions steadily emit a pale blue light. If Zeraora stores up lots of energy and then unleashes attacks, those attacks will pack enough power to take down multiple nearby opponents at once,” reads the description.
Mega Dimension is slated to be the first paid DLC coming to Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and will be priced at $29.99. It will feature post-story content, largely revolving around a new mythical Pokémon – Hoopa – and a strange girl. The story of Mega Dimension will have players once more setting out to explore Lumiose City in the midst of spatial distortions emerging throughout the city. This, in turn, has opened up the Hyperspace dimension where players can find essentially a reflection of Lumiose, complete with its own stronger wild Pokémon.
The DLC will also bring with it Korrina, who has an affinity for Mega Evolutions, including Mega Chimecho and Mega Baxcalibur.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A was released on Nintendo Switch and the Switch 2 just last month. As a new entry in the Pokémon Legends, the title focuses more on exploration and capturing Pokémon rather than the more straight forward battles offered by the mainline series. However, that’s not to say that players can’t partake in Pokémon battles here either; there are plenty of challenges for a trainer looking to test themselves.
The title takes place in the Kalos region’s Lumiose City. As part of the core campaign of the title, players will also have to take on Rogue Mega Evolutions of Pokémon from all over the city, which tend to offer tougher challenges than what players might have faced along the way.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A has proven to be quite successful since its release, with sales figures from last month indicating that it was the biggest physical launch of a game in the US since the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
