Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 are going to go live imminently, on April 9- in most of the world, at least. Nintendo recently announced that it was delaying Switch 2 pre-orders in the United States due to the potential impact of recently applied eye-watering tariffs on pricing, though it turns out some outside of the US are going to be impacted as well.
In a statement to Mobile Syrup, Nintendo has announced that pre-orders for the Switch 2 have been delayed in Canada as well. The company says the decision was made to align pre-orders in both countries. There’s still no word on what the new date for pre-orders will be. That said, the previously announced June 5 release date for the console isn’t being changed, same as in the US.
“Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in Canada will not start on April 9, 2025 in order to align with the timing of pre-orders to be determined in the US. Nintendo will provide updated information at a later date. The launch date of June 5, 2025 is unchanged,” the company says.
As it stands, the console will be sold in the US at $449.99, and in the Canada at $629.99, though it’s likely that pricing will increase at least in the US. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days.
