Following trailers for the Great Sword and Heavy Bowgun in Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom’s latest focuses on the Insect Glaive. The basics of the weapon remain intact, with players sending out a Kinsect to harvest different parts of a monster and gain buffs. Check it out below.
Depending on the monster’s body part, the Kinsect gathers one of three buffs. Obtaining all three will effectively supercharge the player, allowing for more damage. Utilizing its pole vault ability, the Insect Glaive can mount the monster or perform aerial dodges.
Its Focus Strike allows for stabbing the target and backflipping before damaging its wounds/weak spots with the Kinsect (presumably obtaining some extracts for buffs in the process). Some cooler new moves include a pole spin on the monster’s head, a flipping smash attack, and the downward stab from Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.
Monster Hunter Wilds launches in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It will be playable at Gamescom for attendees and receive a new trailer at Opening Night Live on August 20th.
