Season 3.5 is officially live for NetEase’s Marvel Rivals and introduces Blade as a new Duelist. Despite bringing in so many different heroes across the Marvel franchise, it seems that the hero shooter could also collaborate with other titles in the future.
While this is nothing new for the genre (see Overwatch 2), game director Guangyun Chen told Insider Gaming that there are “future plans on collaborations with other Marvel titles.” He didn’t outright confirm any specific titles such as Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, Arkane Lyon’s Blade, EA Motive’s Iron Man or even Insomniac’s slate of Marvel titles, however.
How this could work also remains to be seen since all the heroes and villains originate from the same IP. Perhaps some cosmetics that call Rivals or those other titles to mind? Of course, it’s also possible that it doesn’t collaborate with Sony’s Marvel games or even Marvel Cosmic Invasion, and instead works with NetEase’s other titles, including the recently released Marvel Mystic Mayhem.
Time will tell, so stay tuned. Marvel Rivals is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It crossed 40 million players last February.
