Logan Paul is auctioning off what he calls the “rarest and most valuable Pokémon card in the world,” he told Fox Business Network’s The Big Money Show on Tuesday. Paul previously purchased the card in 2022 for $5.275 million.
The card is a 1998 “Pikachu Illustrator” card featuring art drawn by legendary Pokémon artist Atsuko Nishida, given away to winners of an illustration contest hosted by CoroCoro Comic magazine. Supposedly only 39 cards were issued, with an unknown number left remaining in the world.
The professional grading organization Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) has graded Paul’s card at a 10 — meaning it’s in practically perfect condition. According to Guinness World Records, it’s the most expensive Pokémon card ever traded in a private sale. Paul has since ensconced the card in a necklace wrought of diamonds and gold, replete with a Poké Ball also made of diamonds and gold.
Pre-bidding for the card will begin on Jan. 12, 2026, at Goldin Auctions. (Ken Goldin, the founder and CEO of the platform, recently wore the necklace while attending a heavyweight boxing match between British boxer Anthony Joshua and Paul’s brother, Jake.) According to Fortune, Paul expects the card to sell for anywhere between $7 million and $12 million.
“My dad said it, when I was younger, I’d be playing, ‘Get off your Poké-man game,'” Paul recalled to The Big Money Show. When asked what his dad would say now? “‘Ah, smart investment, son. Play your games!'”
