Technology is evolving at breakneck speed, and the truth of the matter is, we’re ill-equipped in handling the consequences.

Take LLMs for example. Lots of benefits and promises, but little to no concrete plans for safeguards apart from regulation. This is one of the reasons why innocent students are paying the price for false positive AI detection, and why students are forced to change course by using AI bypassing tools.

Today, we’re looking at one of them and comparing them against one of my favorite paraphrasing tools. This is a head-to-head between Jenni AI and Undetectable AI. Let’s see who’s going to come out on top.

What are Jenni AI and Undetectable AI?

Let’s start with Jenni AI.

It’s an advanced writing assistant powered by artificial intelligence. It’s designed to help students, professionals, and content creators with various writing tasks. From academic papers to blog posts, Jenni AI can assist with drafting and paraphrasing written content. The tool uses AI to understand user inputs and generate relevant, coherent text.

But blegh, that’s a little boring. All you need to know is that Jenni AI isn’t just another boring writing tool. When you’re staring at a blank page, Jenni’s got your back. It’s not here to replace you — it’s only here to assist.

On the other hand, Undetectable AI is (mostly) just a paraphrasing tool, but with a pretty big twist. Instead of focusing on readability, Undetectable AI writes a “humanized” version of your input. What it means is removing certain markers that tell algorithms your text is machine-generated.

Since I’m going to focus on comparing these two platforms, I highly suggest reading their respective reviews here (and here).

Can They Write Well?

Tables, both mundane and extraordinary, anchor us in our daily lives. In the morning, a kitchen table gathers families, its surface warmed by coffee cups and toast crumbs. In cafes, wooden tables hold whispered secrets and earnest conversations, stained by coffee rings and ink. At the office, desks—modern cousins of ancient tables—bear the weight of computers and paperwork, silently supporting the world’s business. In workshops, sturdy tables hold the tools of creation, marked by the scars of past projects. Even the grand dining tables of yesteryears, laden with fine china and crystal, whisper stories of feasts and festivities. Each table, in its silent steadfastness, reflects the rhythms of our lives, holding not just objects, but memories and moments, timeless and enduring.

Tables, whether ordinary or extraordinary play a role, in our routines. In the morning a kitchen table becomes the heart of family gatherings bearing the warmth of coffee mugs and toast crumbs. In cafes wooden tables witness hushed conversations and heartfelt talks adorned with coffee stains and ink marks. Within office spaces desks. Versions of tables. Shoulder the burden of computers and paperwork quietly upholding the worlds affairs. In workshops robust tables cradle tools of creation etched with memories from projects. Even the elegant dining tables of bygone eras adorned with china and sparkling crystal recount tales of banquets and joyous celebrations. Each table stands as a symbol of constancy, in our lives embodying not objects but cherished memories and timeless moments that endure through generations.

Tables, whether ordinary or extraordinary, are an integral part of our daily lives. In the morning, a kitchen table brings families together, its surface warmed by the remnants of coffee and toast. Cafes are filled with wooden tables that hold whispered conversations and earnest discussions, stained by coffee rings and ink. At work, desks – the modern versions of ancient tables – support computers and paperwork, silently facilitating the world’s business. In workshops, sturdy tables serve as the foundation for tools of creation, marked by the scars of past projects. Even the grand dining tables of the past, adorned with fine china and crystal, hold stories of feasts and festivities. Each table, in its quiet persistence, reflects the rhythms of our lives, not just as a holder of objects, but as a keeper of memories and moments, timeless and enduring.

There’s no way around it — Undetectable AI definitely has some issues with punctuation and sentence structure. It uses commas incorrectly in several places, disrupting the flow of the text. Capitalization could also use some work. There are also a few sentence fragments that make the writing choppy. These errors make the essay less readable and harder to follow.

On the other hand, Jenni maintains better grammar and punctuation. Its sentences are well-structured and complete. The paraphrasing also stays closer to the original text, preserving its rhythm and readability. This makes it easier for the reader to understand the content.

Both essays have correct spelling throughout. However, Jenni’s superior grammar and sentence structure give it an edge in overall readability — but there’s a reason for this. You see, Undetectable AI (while it’s technically a paraphrasing tool) adds intentional errors to “mimic” human writing.

These two have very different use cases and it shows. If readability is your biggest concern, then go for Jenni AI.

What Now?

I know this is a bit of a non-answer, but between Jenni and Undetectable AI, the answer to what’s better really depends on what you’re using it for.

Jenni AI is a great writing assistant. It paraphrases well, has a great interface, and its LLM is one of the most inspired additions to any writing platforms I’ve seen. Jenni also has a lot more features than Undetectable AI. However, it’s likely not going to bypass any AI detection tools.

Undetectable AI is the complete opposite. No other paraphrasing tool comes close to its accuracy when it comes to avoiding AI detection. That said, the text it outputs is somewhat unreadable at times, which means you need to spend some time fixing its grammar.

So, it’s apples and oranges.

But then again, I like both apples and oranges.
