Elon Musk has publicly admitted he “regrets” some of the posts he made on X last week criticising U.S. President Donald Trump.
Writing on his social media platform X today, June 11, Musk said: “I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far.” Is this an apology or just airing his thoughts?
Musk and Trump fallout
The billionaire Tesla and SpaceX boss posted a string of scathing comments aimed at Trump last week, as tensions between the two men escalated in a highly public spat online.
In one of the most widely shared posts, Musk labelled Trump’s sweeping new tax and spending bill a “disgusting abomination” and “outrageous,” claiming it would “burden American citizens.”
He also wrote in another post: “Time for the big one: Donald Trump is on the Epstein list. That’s why it hasn’t been released. Have a nice day, DJT.”
Trump, in turn, reportedly told supporters that his relationship with Musk was “over”.
Musk: from Trump’s ally to adversary
Musk had previously served in Trump’s DOGE administration until May 30, but the relationship has since unravelled in full public view.
