The Cannes Film Festival has yet again rolled around, bringing together A-listers, directors, writers and industry experts to celebrate the biggest and best movies of this year.
This year, some of the most popular films debuting at the event include Mad Max: Furiosa, Megalopolis, The Apprentice, Horizon: An American Saga and Kinds Of Kindness.
Whilst most screenings will take place behind closed doors, you can still watch the opening and closing ceremonies, the Cannes Film Awards and catch all the celebrities on the red carpet. Here is everything you need to know.
When is the Cannes Film Festival 2024?
This year, the international film festival will take place from Tuesday 14 May 2024 to Saturday 25 May 2024.
Camille Cottin will be the mistress of the opening and prize-giving ceremonies.
When will the closing ceremony and Cannes Film Awards 2024 take place?
The Cannes Film Awards will be handed out during the closing ceremony – this includes the Palme d’Or.
The event will kick off on Saturday 25 May 2024 at the following times:
- 6:45pm CEST (France/Central Europe)
- 5:45pm BST (UK)
- 12:45pm ET (East Coast US)
- 9:45am PT (West Coast US)
How to watch the Cannes Film Festival 2024 ceremonies, awards and red carpets
Cannes Film Festival has confirmed that it will be airing the opening ceremony, closing ceremony and Cannes Film Awards for free internationally.

One of the biggest films of the festival, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, will have its red carpet at 6pm local time on Tuesday 15 May 2024.

Who is the jury for Cannes Film Festival 2024?
Greta Gerwig, director of Barbie and Little Women, has been chosen as president of the jury and succeeds director Ruben Östlund.
Jury members for the 77th ceremony include actress Lily Gladstone, Japanese director and Palme d’Or winner Hirokazu Kore-eda, French actress Eva Green and French actor and producer Omar Sy.
