HBO has some incredible series this year, including Welcome to Derry (which is rolling out now) and season 2 of Peacemaker. If you want to watch them, now is the perfect time.
New and returning subscribers can sign up to Max for just $2.99 per month for 12 months in this flash Black Friday sale. But get in quick, as this deal ends on Cyber Monday, 1 December 2025.
GET OVER 70% OFF HBO MAX AD-SUPPORTED PLAN
Last year, HBO Max (formerly known as Max) was also slashed to $2.99. However, the full price of the ad-supported plan back then was $9.99 per month, and the offer only lasted for six months.
This year, the discounted price is still $2.99 despite the ad-supported plan now costing $10.99 per month. Plus, the deal is for double the amount of time – 12 months rather than six. That makes this the best Black Friday HBO Max deal we’ve ever seen.
You can sign up for this on the HBO Max website, but the deal is also available if you sign up for the platform through the Apple Store or Google Play, as well as Amazon and Roku devices.
After the 12 months are up, the subscription will revert to the standard price. Sadly, no equivalent deal is available on the ad-free plan, which starts from $18.49 per month.
This also may not be the lowest price we’ve seen for HBO Max – a few years ago the service was discounted to $1.99 per month. However, that offer was only for three months. This year, you get a whole year of the service at a cheaper rate, so it’s still the best offer you’ll get in the long-term.
HBO Max includes some of the biggest film hits of this year such as The Conjuring: Last Rites, as well classic staples like the Harry Potter series and The Lord of the Rings movies. You’ll also be able to stream The Last of Us TV series, Succession and House of the Dragon.
As well as ads, the lower-priced plan of HBO Max has resolution capped at 1080p and doesn’t include downloads for offline viewing.
HBO Max isn’t available in the UK, but most of the content shown on here is syndicated on Sky’s flexible streaming service, Now.
