ATLANTA (AP) — A district lawyer in Atlanta stated Wednesday that she won’t pursue fees in opposition to a Georgia state lawmaker who was arrested throughout a protest of the state’s sweeping new election regulation.
“After reviewing the entire proof, I’ve determined to shut this matter,” Fulton County District Lawyer Fani Willis stated in an emailed assertion. “It won’t be introduced to a grand jury for consideration of indictment, and it’s now closed.”
Rep. Park Cannon, a Democrat from Atlanta, was arrested March 25 after she knocked on the door to Republican Gov.
