We now know when the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone is going to be officially launched, as well as some more details on its three cameras.
Reliable leaker Evan Blass (aka @Evleaks) has posted an interesting image to X, which appears to be an official teaser from Samsung Italy for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. It shows a hazy, heavily stylised smartphone side-on, with the accompanying words “Beyond slim”.
The real payoff is the date, which suggests (in Italian) that Samsung will finally hold an event to launch its phone on 13 May, 2025. That’s less than a fortnight away.
As for the rollout of the phone into shops, previous reports from Korea suggest availability from 23 May in China and South Korea, with the rest of the globe following on 30 May.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge selfie cam
In separate news, we now have some more solid information about the nature of the Galaxy S25 Edge’s camera set-up.
Website Sammyguru claims to have spotted details of the Galaxy S25 Edge’s three cameras on an unspecified regulatory website. Such websites are always the final stop before an official unveiling, so this is quite plausible.
First up is the detail that the Galaxy S25 Edge will run a 12MP selfie camera. Judging by that spec, and the fact that this uses a 1/3.2-inch sensor, it seems to be the exact same selfie camera as the rest of the Samsung Galaxy S25 range.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge main camera spec
The same source also spotted the Galaxy S25 Edge’s wide and ultra-wide cameras on this regulatory database. It points to a 200MP 1/3-inch main camera, which sounds an awful lot like that of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra to us.
That should at least partially make up for the lack of a dedicated telephoto camera. Presumably there’ll be enough pixels to create some respectable cropped 2x and 3x shots.
The other camera will be a 12MP 1/2.55-inch ultra-wide, which sounds like the same component as the regular Samsung Galaxy S25 to us.
All in all, this is sounding like a bit of a hybrid device, taking components from across the S25 range and fitting them into a super-skinny (and possibly toughened-up) body.
