As well as being named the overall winner, Hexis also won top prize in the tech start-up category.

Dublin-based health-tech Hexis took home the Grand Prix award at the 2025 National Startup Awards last night (20 November).

Co-founded by physical performance experts Dr David Dunne and Dr Samuel Impey, Hexis offers personalised nutrition to athletes to improve performance and accelerate recovery. The start-up is backed by Enterprise Ireland and is seeing rapid growth across the UK and US.

As well as being named the overall winner, Hexis also won top prize in the tech start-up category. Other gold winners included Haon Life Sciences, Silicate Carbon and Glitch. A live pitching competition was also held at the event yesterday, which was won by Fussy Food Plates.

“Over the years we have seen some incredible companies come through this program, which is now recognised as the leading awards event for early-stage businesses in Ireland and this year was no exception,” said National Startup Awards founder Stephen Dillon.

“The National Startup Awards represents a fantastic opportunity for companies to showcase their businesses and gain valuable national and international exposure.”

Yesterday’s awards ceremony was supported by Enterprise Ireland, Microfinance Ireland, McCann Fitzgerald LLP, Dublin City Council, Cronin and Co, Accountant.ie and Furthr.

“Enterprise Ireland is delighted to partner with the National Startup Awards, reinforcing our unwavering commitment to fostering innovative, export-focused start-ups,” said Conor O’Donovan, head of start-ups and entrepreneurship at Enterprise Ireland.

“A key priority for Enterprise Ireland is to enhance Ireland’s profile as a premier location for starting and scaling businesses. The National Startup Awards offers emerging companies a valuable platform to showcase the energy and innovation driving our start-up sector.”
