DRIVER of a car filled with explosives, fireworks and gas canisters is dead and seven people are injured after the car exploded outside Trump Hotel.
A Tesla Cybertruck was filled with explosives and driven outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas just before it exploded sending canisters and fireworks in all directions and shattering the hotel windows.
The blaze was recorded as having happened at 8.40am Pacific Time or 15.40pm Greenwich mean time, on Las Vegas Boulevard.
Authorities have said that all injuries were minor and that they are trying to decide if there is any connection between this attack and the New Year’s Day attack which left 15 people dead in New Orleans.
The car had been rented barely two hours before the explosion occurred from Turo an app based rental service that was also used in the New Orleans attack.
President Biden said of the attack in Las Vegas “Law enforcement and the intelligence community are investigating this as well, including whether there’s any possible connection with the attack in New Orleans.”
Officials believe there may be a connection between the two events because improvised explosives were also found near the New Orleans scene.
Mr McMahill of the Las Vegas Police Department has stated that whilst they are investigating any links to the New Orleans attack they were also considering potential connections to President-Elect Donald Trump, the owner of the Trump Hotel or Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla.
It is known that Musk and Trump have been working together since bonding during Trumps recent presidential campaign.
The president elect’s son, Eric Trump speaking on behalf of Trump Hotels said: “The safety and well-being of our guests and staff remain our top priority. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Las Vegas Fire Department and local law enforcement for their swift response and professionalism”.
The driver of the Las Vegas vehicle has not, as yet, been identified.
