Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s Campaign Finale is a 32-Player Extraction Mission – Rumor

Call of Duty has attempted its fair share of gimmicks before, but the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is reportedly the strangest yet. Anonymous sources speaking to Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson revealed the finale of the game’s campaign is allegedly a 32-player extraction shooter-esque mission.

The map is apparently Avalon, first mentioned in Black Ops 6. Reportedly meant as a battle royale map, it will require completing objectives and then extracting. Character progress is also allegedly lost if you and your squad die.

Other details include points of interest that will appear throughout the campaign, though their exact nature is unknown. The apparent reason for this connection is unified progression across all modes, which even extends to leveling up weapons and the Battle Pass in the campaign.

In a way, it’s somewhat reminiscent of the final mission of Destiny 2: The Final Shape, where 12 players teamed up in a single mission. The difference is that it wasn’t an extraction-style mission. How will Raven Software and Treyarch handle this, if it is indeed true? We’ll have to wait and find out.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is rumored to release on November 14th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. It will be revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19th.
