The open beta for EA’s Battlefield 6 is now available to preload on all platforms ahead of the first test going live this weekend. Early access doesn’t begin until August 7th, with everyone receiving access on August 9th to 10th, but the beta has already amassed over 9,000 peak concurrent Steam players.
SteamDB notes an all-time peak of 9,463 concurrent players at this time, which is even more impressive considering Battlefield 2042’s 24-hour peak hit 11,245. While it definitely speaks to the sequel’s hype (if third place on the top 100 global sellers chart wasn’t enough proof), many players are logging in ahead of time to adjust their settings.
You can even chat with other players in the lobby, though being able to optimize performance, reassign key bindings, and more ahead of time is perhaps more significant. Regardless, expect the player count to increase as the first beta weekend approaches.
Battlefield 6 launches on October 10th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
