Baldur’s Gate 3 won’t receive any paid expansions, and Larian isn’t keen on developing a sequel, but that doesn’t mean fans can’t look forward to more updates. Patch 7 is in the works, and alongside the improved evil endings, with new cutscenes and music, it also marks the arrival of official modding tools.
In a new Steam post, Larian notes that these will allow players to “change up visuals, animations, sounds, stats, and more to overhaul Baldur’s Gate 3 into the weird nightmare realm of your dreams.” Fans can also expect bug fixes for issues like Jaheira not following the group into combat, the confrontation between Gortash and The Dark Urge missing Narrator lines, Wyll’s “less-than-romantic” greetings and more.
Due to the sheer scale of the patch, Larian will have additional internal playtesting along with a PC closed beta for Patch 7. Only select players get access, with more details in the coming weeks. Stay tuned in the meantime.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for Xbox Series X/S, PC and PS5. It recently won Game of the Year at the BAFTA Games Awards, becoming the first title in history to receive the honor at every major awards show (including The D.I.C.E. Awards, Golden Joysticks, Game Developers Choice Awards and The Game Awards).
