The Tate brothers have had their accounts removed from social media platforms due to their misogynistic statements and have now fled Florida.
The Florida state attorney general, James Uthmeier, is also taking criminal measures against the ‘influencer’ Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan. He has instructed the prosecutor’s office to execute search warrants and issue summons as part of an ongoing criminal investigation against the Tate brothers, it has been revealed. ‘Florida has zero tolerance for people who abuse women and girls. We will not allow it, he wrote on Tuesday night.
Andrew Tate has also seen his social media accounts blocked over inflammatory statements he made, often appearing to advocate violence against women, which the platforms ruled violated their policies.
Mystery surrounds why Tate brothers allowed to travel to US
The two brothers entered the United States recently. In Romania, they are being investigated on suspicion of rape and human trafficking. Since their arrest in December 2022, the two men had not been able to leave Romania. However, the local authorities finally gave them permission to travel to Florida. Many in the media speculated that the new US administration might have defended the Tate brothers. Both have British and American citizenship. President Trump said that he knew nothing about the Tate brothers’ release and answered no questions about whether he had anything to do with influencing the Romanian government’s decision to let the brothers travel.
On landing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis told reporters that they were not welcome. ‘These men have publicly admitted that they have been involved in what appears to be incitement to illegal activities, human trafficking, and exploitation of women around the world,’ he said. ‘In Florida, this type of behaviour is considered abhorrent. Florida is not a place where you are welcome when such accusations are made,’ DeSantis continued. In addition, he said that he will have the attorney general examine whether the state has jurisdiction to prosecute them for their alleged crimes.
The two influencers have denied having acted badly. In a podcast interview on Monday, Andrew Tate accused DeSantis of giving in to media pressure. Tate said he has a US passport and has the right to visit his home country. He claimed that he had not broken any law and that he had never been accused of any crime, let alone convicted.
The mystery around the Tate brothers release from Romania, coupled with the frosty reception on arrival in the United States, begs questions about what will happen to the controversial brothers while in America. They are said to have already left the Sunshine State due to not finding the welcome they had expected.
