Amazon Prime Day typically happens twice every year. One is its traditional summer sales event, whilst the other takes place in the Autumn/Fall season, just ahead of Black Friday – the latter was introduced last year.
Prime Day (sometimes goes by different names) often offers some of the biggest discounts on tech products on Amazon – as well as just about any type of product you can imagine – but only if you’re a Prime member. This is doubly so if you’re after an Amazon-branded product, such as a new Fire TV stick, Fire tablet, Echo smart speaker/display or even a smart TV.
If you want to know when the next one is taking place, then we’ve rounded up all the information you need.
When is the next Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon has confirmed that the Prime Day event will take place in July 2024 in countries including the UK, US, Canada and plenty more (full list later).
The exact date is yet to be revealed so we’ll update this article once it is announced. Based on previous dates, we’d guess it will be 9-10 July.
Here are some previous Amazon Prime Day dates:
As usual, it will be exclusive to Amazon Prime members. You can sign up for a 30-day free trial here.
“We are working hard to pack even more great savings into the event this year. Members will also be able to take advantage of deep discounts and get their shopping done early for Back-to-School supplies, avoiding the lines and enjoying the convenience of fast, free shipping through Prime,” said Amazon in a blog post.
What time will the Amazon Prime Day sale go live?
Although we’re waiting for the exact date, the sales will go live at 12:01am local time, so you can start shopping from midnight. Amazon will likely put an array of ‘early’ deals ahead of the event, too.
If you’re looking for something specific, then you may want to be online from then. Previously, some deals have ended up selling out stock – particularly on popular games consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series S.

What time will the Amazon Prime Day sale end?
The Prime Day discounts will likely be available until 11:59pm on the second day. Despite being called Prime Day, the event lasts 48 hours.
If the deals available aren’t quite what you’re looking for, then never fear. Other sales will no doubt take place over the summer with rival retailers such as Currys in the UK and BestBuy in the US.
Black Friday will come round again before we know it and takes place on Friday 22 November 2024, with Cyber Monday following on Monday 25 November 2024. Both will offer plenty more discounts, and not just from Amazon.
How to look out for specific Amazon Prime Day deals
If you want a discount on a particular item, then you can set up a deal alert by visiting the Prime Day deals page. If an item is discounted, you’ll get a push notification.
Which countries will the Amazon Prime Day 2024 sale be available in?
There will be 24 countries that will have Prime Day events in July, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the US, and the UK.
