Sony’s recent State of Play showcase featured plenty of updates on previously announced titles, from Borderlands 4 and Lost Soul Aside to Onimusha: Way of the Sword and more, though the show also had some new announcements to make.
One game in particular that caught the eye was Tides of Annihilation, a fantasy action-adventure title by new Eclipse Glow Games, a Tencent-funded studio that boasts veteran talent that has worked on Yakuza, Persona, For Honor, Assassin’s Creed, and more.
Tides of Annihilation is set London – which comes under sudden (and heavy) siege from mysterious entities not of this world – as well as the fantasy realm of Avalon. Players play as Gwendoline, who awakens to powers that allow her to command command the legendary Knights of the Round Table. With these powers, she embarks on a quest to rescue her sister and defeat the demigods invading Earth.
On top of a story inspired by Arthurian legend, the game will also tout “distinct features such as a unique dual-knight fighting system and immense levels in the form of gigantic knights roaming the city of London”, according to Eclipse Glow. Check out the trailer below for more details.
Tides of Annihilation is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. A release date or window haven’t been announced.
