Samsung has announced that it’s updating its Health platform and will add new AI features to the Samsung Galaxy Watch and the Galaxy Ring.
Revealed at Samsung’s CES 2025 keynote, the Korean tech giant revealed how it’s set to use AI so that existing users of its wearables will soon get even smarter use features.

Hon Pak, Samsung’s Senior Vice President and Head of Digital Health delved into some details as to what to expect from the Health update and its plans to use AI to create an “end-to-end” health experience and make it easier to create healthier habits and detect health abnormalities.
One example of what’s to come centred around sleep and how it will use the sleep data generated by its smartwatches and smart ring.
It used the example of someone struggling to sleep because it’s too hot in their room. It showed Health will be able to tap into Samsung’s SmartThings smart home platform so it can turn down your thermostat based on that interrupted period of your sleep.

Pak also spoke of how Health can also work in tandem with Samsung’s Food app so that if you’re following a diet and include that information in Health, its food app can recommend recipes based on your diet goals.
You’ll also be able to receive an AI-based summary of your nutrition trends to understand what you’re keeping on top of or what you might be lacking in your diet.
In addition to the Health update, Pak also revealed that it’s worked closely with Dexcom, the makers of one of the most popular glucose monitoring devices to improve integration with Samsung Health. It also mentioned working with other health tech brands including Withings, Beurer, Renpho, Core and Technogym to do something similar.
According to Wareable, there’s more to come too, with Samsung apparently set to launch a Symptom Radar, which sounds a whole lot like Oura‘s recently launched and similarly named Symptom Radar feature it introduced for its smart ring.
It’s not clear when the Health app update will fully roll out, but we anticipate it will happen at some point this year and give current Samsung smartwatches and smart rings to look forward to until Samsung starts teasing a Galaxy Ring 2 or Galaxy Watch 8.
