From a physical Deluxe Edition to what’s looking like a wonderfully nightmarish new expansion, Alan Wake 2 is giving fans plenty to look forward to in the coming days, but on top of that, developer Remedy Entertainment has a few other bonuses to drop for all players as well.
Taking to Twitter, game director Kyle Rowley revealed that Remedy will be celebrating Alan Wake 2’s one-year anniversary with a free update soon. The highlight of this update will be a new Assist Mode for those who want to play the game with way less challenge. The mode will entail infinite ammo and infinite flashlight batteries. You also won’t be able to die, and all enemies will die in one shot.
In addition to Assist Mode, the update will also bring improvements for DualSense-specific features on PS5- specifically, the haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and gyro support. You can also expect “some other gameplay tweaks and fixes”, while those who own the game’s Deluxe Edition will also receive a Classic Wake outfit, presumably based on the original Alan Wake.
Alan Wake 2 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The Lake House DLC and the physical Deluxe Edition will launch on October 22.
