EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – Police in Juarez, Mexico, are investigating a shooting that left one Venezuelan dead, and another critically injured on Wednesday afternoon.
The shooting occurred in a street market called Los Cerrajeros just south of Downtown where a year ago another Venezuelan was shot, but survived, according to local news reports.
This time, Juarez police received a 911 call from a woman stating she heard eight shots being fired and saw two males lying on the street. Police officers arrived at the scene and reported two men had been shot in the head; one was deceased.
A Border Report camera crew arrived when paramedics rendered aid to the survivor and transported him by ambulance to a hospital. The victim’s torso was covered in blood and first responders placed bandages around his head.
A witness said a teenager approached the two men on foot and opened fire. The Chihuahua state police said it was investigating the attack and did not immediately have a motive or a suspect. The market is next to several low-rent apartments and homes were migrants have been known to have found temporary housing in the past.
