After the failure and cancellation of The Acolyte, it’s hard to predict how the next series from the Star Wars universe will turn out. However, after some darker productions, Disney wants to cast a lighter tone on a galaxy far, far away with Skeleton Crew. And that may prove to be the key to the series’ success.
Although Skeleton Crew will premiere soon, Disney hasn’t shared much information about the plot. However, thanks to the trailers, we get the impression that the show will have a vibe similar to famous 80s productions, telling the story of a group of children going on extraordinary adventures. Titles such as Goonies, E.T. and Stand by Me come to mind, but fans of the series will probably also quickly think of Netflix’s Stranger Things.
But will Skeleton Crew really draw from 80s cult classics? Will it captivate viewers as much as the story of Eleven and her friends? Here you’ll find out what to expect from the new instalment of the Star Wars franchise.

The new series from the Star Wars universe will debut on Disney+ on Tuesday, 3 December 2024 with a two-episode premiere.
