We’ve known for a while now that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is going to use the voice acting recordings of the original MGS3, but though the bulk of it is being carried over as is, it seems like the game will also feature some new recordings from veteran actors returning to their roles.
That’s as per actor Jim Piddock, who voiced Major Zero in the original Metal Gear Solid 3, and recently confirmed on Twitter that he has been involved in “some” new recordings for its upcoming remake.
Interestingly enough, Piddock isn’t the only actor confirmed to be reprising their role with new recordings in the remake. He confirmed on Twitter that Lori Alan, who voiced The Boss in the original, has returned as well.
Earlier this month, David Hayter – the voice of Solid Snake and Big Boss – teased that he had returned to the role of the latter for a project he didn’t specify. It’s likely that Metal Gear Solid Delta was what we was referring to.
What exactly the new recordings for the remake will entail remains to be seen. Konami previously mentioned that the game will feature some re-recorded lines, though whether we can also expect at least some entirely new lines remains to be seen.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
