The original Until Dawn had two major endings with minor variations based on which individual characters were allowed to die along the way. While the worst possible ending had the entire group get wiped out, the best ending at the time required all eight characters to survive till the end, in some way, shape, or form. The new remake puts a twist on this “good” ending with a far better variation. Additionally, there is a new epilogue that hints at the potential for a sequel – Until Dawn 2, to the game.
This Until Dawn Remake guide describes the actions you need to take in order to achieve the all new best ending that ensures every character survives to the end.
New Epilogue
Until Dawn Remake’s added epilogue requires Sam to survive the night’s ordeal. The survival or demise of the remaining characters has no bearing whatsoever on accessing this bonus scene.
Joshua’s Therapy Sessions
Getting the new best ending requires a specific set of responses in Josh’s therapy sessions with Dr. Hill. When combined with Sam’s discovery of the Scrawled Journal, the outcome will unlock a new bonus post-credits scene.

Chapter 10
When Sam and Mike are wading through the underground pool of water, have Sam veer away from Mike and to the waterwheel’s left. Pick up and read the last of the clues: the Scrawled Journal, to ensure both possibilities of Josh’s survival.
Sam and Mike will now be able to return to Josh and pull him out of his psychotic delusions. Hannah will still catch up to him, but if the therapy session answers were provided correctly, then he will survive this ordeal in human form.
Reading the Scrawled Journal after providing the wrong answers in the therapy sessions will lead to the slightly worse original ending of Josh transformed into a Wendigo, but is still good enough for the purpose of gaining the ‘They All Live’ gold Trophy.
That is how to unlock the new true ending as well as the bonus epilogue scene in Until Dawn Remake.
