Never one to be outdone by its rivals such as Apple and Samsung, Huawei just announced no less than six new smartwatches.
We’re all for championing consumer choice and Huawei’s new wearable range, including the GT 5 series and the Watch D2, does exactly that. There are various different sizes, designs and feature sets to choose from.
With prices starting at £229.99 let’s dive into these new wearables.
Huawei Watch GT 5
The new GT 5 series are the smartwatches that mose closely rival the likes of the Google Pixel Watch 3, Apple Watch Series 10, Galaxy Watch 7.
Huawei offers the device in either 41- or 46mm sizes but with dramatically different designs. The smaller is more feminine while the larger is more masculine and there are various colours to choose from.

The 41mm GT 5 will last up to 7 days of battery life while the 46mm doubles that to two weeks.
Both benefit from Huawei’s new TruSense system, with faster and more accurate tracking of health metrics than previous models. However, the Pro models have some extra hardware and software features (see below).

Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro
Opt for a Watch GT 5 Pro and you get the choice of either 42- or 46mm sizes and, like the regular model, each has a contrasting design. The larger model can last up to 14 days which is double the smaller size.
Apart from choosing which design you like the best, the Pro models add some additional lures for the extra money.

Primarily, you get the new Golf Mode which has over 15,000 global golf courses maps and all kinds of tracking including your swing – there’s also an AI Caddie to help you select a club and more.
Additionally, the Pro has a Free Diving mode (to depths up to 40m), Trail Run and ECG functionality.

Huawei Watch Ultimate Green Edition
This device isn’t completely new, but an updated version of last year’s Watch Ultimate.
The Green Edition adds an exclusive ‘dual-colour nano-tech ceramic bezel’ which Huawei says requires a more complex manufacturing process.
Its colour is fitting due to the new Golf Course Mode which offers all kinds of tracking and insights for those who like to play 18 holes. It can even map your swing and help you improve. Though this is available on the GT 5 Pro above.
There’s also a new Expedition Mode and the device is compatible with both Android and iPhone.

Huawei Watch D2
Touted as a ‘ground-breaking innovation’, the Watch D2 is the world’s first “wrist-based, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) device to be certified by NMPA and MDR.”
It means the D2 can offer 24-hour accurate blood pressure measurements, like you might be used to you your wearable tracking your hear rate round the clock. This is part of the TruSense System for faster and more accurate results, according to the firm.
The ultra-narrow mechanical airbag is fitted into a slim and light design but still has a large 1.82-inch display. It could be a game changer for anyone who needs to keep an eye on blood pressure wherever they go.
A single tap can also generate a Heath Overview report with nine different body indicators.
