The next Mafia game has finally been announced, as leaks had insisted in recent months. Called Mafia: The Old Country, the title was announced by 2K and developer Hangar 13 to close the show at Gamescom Opening Night Live.
As reports claimed prior to release, Mafia: The Old Country is a prequel set in the 1900s, and will take players to Sicily, where it will tell the story of the origins of organized crime. Whether that means the original game’s Don Salieri makes a return as leaks had claimed remains to be seen.
Check out the game’s brief announcement teaser below. 2K and Hangar 13 have confirmed that they will be sharing more information on the title this December.
Mafia: The Old Country is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It’s due out in 2025, with 2K confirming that it will releasing during fiscal year 2026, which means it won’t launch until April at the earliest.
