Motorola is not slowing down this year.
First the Edge 50 Fusion, Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Ultra hit the market, later joined by the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra foldables. All these devices are also now available in Europe, including the UK.
Now, the latest rumours suggest that the Edge series will soon be expanded with more models. Here’s everything you need to know about the full Edge 50 range, including the upcoming regular Edge 50 and Edge 50 Neo.
When will the Motorola Edge 50 series be released?
Initially, the Edge 50 series launched on 3 April 2024 in India, ahead of it being released there on 9 April 2024. The global launch didn’t take long, though – it took place on 16 April 2024.
As of 12 July 2024, the whole series is now available to buy in the UK, including the Edge 50 Fusion, Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Ultra. However, there’s no word on a potential US release.

What’s more, MySmartPrice reports that Motorola is expanding its Edge 50 family by adding a new ‘vanilla’ Edge 50 model.
According to the report, this new model has been certified by several global authorities, such as TDRA, FCC, EEC, UAE’s TDRA, and most recently by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), seemingly confirming its upcoming launch in India and internationally. While the BIS certification does not provide specific details about the device’s specs, it indicates that the launch is imminent.
It may be joined by the Edge 50 Neo, with leaker Evan Blass posting official-looking renders and GSMArena stating that it’s “expected to launch soon”.
How much does the Motorola Edge 50 series cost?
Here’s the starting prices for the phones currently available in Europe, including the UK:
- Edge 50 Fusion – £349/€349
- Edge 50 Pro – £599/€699
- Edge 50 Ultra – £849/€999
The Edge 50 Fusion is competitively priced, costing less than both its predecessor, the Edge 30 Fusion, and the weakest of the previous generation, the Edge 40.
The reintroduction of the Ultra model has also increased maximum prices a little. The Edge 50 Pro is no longer the most powerful in the series and its price has been reduced relative to the Edge 40 Pro.

The Edge 50 Ultra will cost you an extra £150 compared the Pro model from last year. However, its price is still less than the £999 Pixel 8 Pro and £1,249 Galaxy S24 Ultra, which will be the main rivals to the Edge 50 Ultra in terms of AI features.
As for the expected Edge 50, its price should be somewhere between £349/€349 and £599/€699. And the Edge 50 Neo should be cheaper than all of them.

What specs and features does the Motorola Edge 50 series have?
As the Edge 50 series has now been officially revealed in Europe, we have confirmed specs for all three phones. Here’s what you can expect from them.
Motorola Edge 50 Pro
The Edge 50 Pro has a sleek design with contoured edges, an aluminium frame and options for vegan leather or pearl finish. It also boasts an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
On the front, it sports a near-borderless 6.7-inch 144Hz pOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and HDR10+. It also includes a peak brightness of 2000 nits and Pantone-validated colours for enhanced accuracy. Notably, it includes a 50Mp front-facing camera with autofocus and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

On the rear, there’s a 50Mp main camera with OIS, 10Mp telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom and 13Mp ultrawide lens which doubles as a macro camera for close-up shots.
It offers video capture at maximum of 4K UHD in 30fps or FHD resolution in either 60- or 30fps.
The handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, which is paired with 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of UFS 2.2 onboard storage. It also has a 4500mAh battery and fast charging capabilities, including 125W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The Edge 50 Pro weighs 174.9g and measures 161.9 x 73.1 x 7.9mm. Available in Black Beauty and Luxe Lavender colours as standard, it also offers a limited edition Moonlight Pearl variant designed by company Mazzucchelli 1849.
Motorola Edge 50 Fusion
The Edge 50 Fusion is a more budget-friendly option that still offers premium design with its curved 6.7-inch Full HD+ pOLED display and 144Hz refresh rate. It’s also durable, thanks to the IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and Gorilla Glass 5 on the front.
However, it drops down to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset paired with either 8- or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128-, 256- or 512GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage.
On the rear, it also boasts a slightly stripped down camera setup of 50Mp main camera with OIS and 13Mp ultrawide lens, while on the front there’s a 32Mp selfie camera.
The phone offers video capture at UHD in 30fps or FHD in both 30- and 60fps.

The Edge 50 Fusion has a 5000mAh cell. Motorola says it offers over 30 hours of battery life, but doesn’t say anything about charging speeds.
Weightning 174.9g and measuring 161.9 x 73.1 x 7.9mm, the phone is available in Forest Blue, Hot Pink and Marshmallow Blue colours, all featuring a textured back, with the latter having a vegan leather finish.

The most packed of the three, the Edge 50 Ultra features a thin sandblasted aluminium frame, Gorilla Glass Victus and IP68 rating for even better protection.

On the front, it boasts a 6.67-inch Super HD pOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 2500 nits. There’s also a 50Mp selfie camera with autofocus.
On the rear, the Ultra model has a 50Mp main camera, 50Mp ultrawide lens and 64Mp telephoto lens, all with OIS and autofocus features, along with a triple-LED flash.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 paired with 12- or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB or 1TB of UFS 4.0 built-in storage. When it comes to charging, the Edge 50 Ultra has a 4500mAh battery with support of 125W wired charging and up to 50W wireless charging. It also features a 10W wireless power sharing.
The device will be available in three colours, including Peach Fuzz and Forest Grey (both being vegan leather) as well as Nordic Wood. It weights 197g and measures 161.09x 72.38 x 8.59mm, making it the heaviest of the three, despite having a slightly smaller screen and battery.
Motorola Edge 50 Neo
Motorola’s Edge 50 Neo is expected to be released soon, with detailed renders shared by Evan Blass (via GSMArena) revealing four colour options: Grisaille (black), Nautical Blue, Poinciana (red), and Latte (beige).
The device seems to feature three rear cameras. The camera specifications suggest a 50Mp main camera, a 10Mp telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 13Mp ultrawide camera.
The Edge 50 Neo is said to be available in 8GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB configurations, but that’s about all we know for now.
Motorola Edge 50
Very little information on the Edge 50 has currently emerged.
Previously, an FCC certification (via GSMArena) revealed that the Edge 50 will feature a 5,000 mAh battery with 68W fast wired charging, NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 6, GPS, and 5G support.
Further details are expected to be released soon.
Software and Moto AI
All phones in the series are available out of the box with Android 14 and newly redesigned Hello UX, Motorola’s Android skin. However, its biggest upgrade is moto AI, that brings artificial intelligence to compete with the likes of Samsung and Google.
It offers extra customisation, intuitive gestures, Family Space for kids, and Moto Secure for comprehensive security settings. It also introduces Smart Connect feature for seamless integration across Lenovo and Motorola devices, offering a true multi-device experience. This includes support for external displays and easy data synchronisation.
It also introduces Photo Enhancement Engine to the Edge 50 Ultra, powered by AI, that helps in taking perfect photos by combining settings from multiple shooting modes.
It fine-tunes images for optimal detail, clarity, highlights, shadows, colour and bokeh. New features such as Adaptive Stabilisation can dynamically adjust stabilisation levels, while Auto Focus Tracking keeps subjects in focus. Action Shot optimises low-light photos and Long Exposure enables creative motion capture without the need for dedicated camera gear.

In terms of updates, Motorola promises to provide three years of Android version upgrades and four years of security updates for the Edge 50 series. That’s decent for the Fusion, but a little disappointing for the Pro and Ultra models.
