Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in an airstrike on his home in Tehran on Tuesday. The Palestinian militant group Hamas and Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards confirmed the death in separate statements. Haniyeh’s death followed his participation in the inauguration of Iran’s new president.“Hamas declares to the great Palestinian people and the people of the Arab and Islamic nations and all the free people of the world, brother leader Ismail Haniyeh a martyr,” said the statement from Hamas.
