From a photo mode and a free stage to the return of Lidia Sobieska as a DLC character, there’s plenty for Tekken 8 players to look forward to in the coming days, but Bandai Namco has now also unveiled what it has in the pipeline for later in the year. Tekken 8 is set to welcome back franchise big bad Heihachi Mishima this fall.
For obvious reasons (which we won’t go into for those who haven’t played Tekken 7), Heihachi was MIA in Tekken 8’s base game, other than in several flashbacks, but he’s bound to return to the spotlight, as well as the playable roster, when he releases as a DLC character later this year. Bandai Namco made the announcement at Evo with an appropriately dramatic trailer. Check it out below.
A specific date for Heihachi’s arrival is unknown, nor do we yet know who the fourth DLC character in the game’s first year of post-launch support is going to be. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
Tekken 8 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
