Smart rings are making headlines across the world, and if you want to get on the hype train then the leading model is discounted for the first time in the US.
The Oura Ring Gen 3 is now available from as low as $282 on Amazon, down from its usual price of $349. This is on the black colourway in the Horizon (circular) shape, though other shades such as silver, gold and brushed titanium also have savings of up to 19% off.
This deal won’t last for long, as it’s part of the Amazon Prime Day sale, which ends tonight at 11:59pm. You’ll need to be a Prime member to take advantage of the discount, though new members can get a 30-day trial. With that, you get free and fast delivery, plus access to Prime Video.
If you don’t have Prime, then Best Buy is also offering a generous $50 saving on the Oura Ring.
If you want a wearable that is simple, understated and won’t distract you with notifications, then this is ideal. It has a battery life of up to a week, can track your steps and heart rate and sleep. Plus, it’ll blend in with any outfit, unlike a bulky smartwatch.
There is a catch – to use these features, you’ll need to pay for an Oura subscription, which will set you back an extra $5.99 per month.
If that’s a dealbreaker for you, then there is another smart ring that hits shelves next week. Samsung’s Galaxy Ring has a higher upfront cost of $399 but doesn’t come with any sort of subscription attached to it. Plus, it’s brand new – unlike the Oura which launched three years ago.
