Basketball is extremely popular in the US, but many UK-based fans also look forward to seeing who will become the league champion. The Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks will compete for the title this year.

Check out our guide to find out what games are being live-streamed, what TV channels they’re on, and how to watch them online on almost any device.

How to watch NBA Playoffs 2024 in the UK

In the UK, you can watch the NBA Playoffs on BBC iPlayer, on TNT Sports, or via NBA League Pass.

BBC and BBC iPlayer

You can catch up on the first game of the playoffs on BBC iPlayer. However, all remaining games will air on TNT Sports.

TNT Sports

All games in the NBA Finals will air on TNT Sports, available in the UK via EE TV, Sky, and Virgin Media.

If you’re a BT TV user, you can add TNT Sports to your regular programming package for an additional £20.

Sky customers can bundle TNT Sports with Sky Glass or Sky Stream. Those who own Sky Q and the basic Sky TV package for at least 18 months can use a TNT Sports add-on for an extra £28.

Virgin Media clients have two options. Those who purchased the Stream TV plan can add TNT Sports for £16.20 monthly. Users of the Big Bundle or Bigger Bundle have to pay an extra £18 per month for the TNT Sports add-on.

If you prefer to watch the NBA Finals online, you can do so via discovery+, TNT Sports’ new streaming home.

All you need is a Premium monthly pass, which costs £30.99 per month.

Thanks to that subscription, you can also watch other sports events, including Premier League and UEFA Champions League, Gallagher Premiership Rugby, Moto GP, Formula E, and lots of coverage of boxing, tennis, cycling, or snooker.

NBA League Pass

If the options above don’t suit you, the NBA’s official streaming service is likely a better choice, especially if you want to watch all the playoffs without spending too much money.

There are two plans to choose from.

The basic League Pass costs £14.99 per month or £99.99 for a season-long package. This tier gives you access to condensed games and archives, customizable broadcasts, angles, and advanced statistics.

The other option is the League Pass Premium for £19.99 per month or £139.99 for a whole season. With that tier come additional features such as ad-free viewing and the ability to stream on three devices simultaneously.

Watch the NBA from abroad

If you’re going abroad or happen to live outside the UK or US, then you can still watch the NBA. The official League Pass is available in Australia, for example.

Should it not be available where you are, you can access it using a VPN (virtual private network). This allows you to change the IP address of your device to browse the web from a different country to where you are.

So, if you’re somewhere without BBC iPlayer or the NBA League Pass, you can use a VPN to set your location as the UK and still watch the live stream. We recommend NordVPN, but you can also look at our list of the best VPNs for other options.
