Samsung Hints There Won’t be a Galaxy S26 Edge

The Galaxy S26 range is official and involves the traditional line-up of three starting models. A Galaxy S26 FE is highly likely to arrive later in the year, but the S26 Edge has more of a question mark over it.

After sitting down for a chat with Samsung, I’ve got a feeling that the “beyond slim” phone was a one-and-done affair.

I spoke to Kadesh Beckford, Senior Product Manager at Samsung UK, during a briefing at the firm’s London store ahead of Unpacked. Here’s what he had to say when asked if we can expect a new Edge model in 2026.

“We’ve definitely learnt from it [the S25 Edge] and been able to implement action to our other devices. I’m always looking at the insights on what our consumers are looking for in a smartphone and then being able to create and bring forth to the market devices which are meaningful to them,” Beckford said.

Earlier in the chat, when talking about the lack of Qi2 magnets in the Galaxy S26 range, he also commented similarly (unprompted) about how the company had “taken our learnings” from the Galaxy S25 Edge, with a tone implying that the model was something of an experiment.

The phone reportedly sold poorly, leading to chatter that Samsung would cancel the Galaxy S26 Edge, although it was also thought possible that this model would replace the S26+ in the line-up.

Still, other phone makers such as Apple and Motorola have been making similar super-slim handsets, with more rumoured to be on the way, so it’s not quite definitive yet, even though, last time around, the S25 Edge was teased along with the other models.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is thinner than its predecessor but only by 0.3mm, though it does retain a built-in S Pen and gets a new Privacy Display.

Beckford added, “I can’t necessarily comment on the future, but what I can comment on – we’ll always make sure that we’ve got the perfect devices available for different types of customers globally”.

For now, you’ll have to choose one of the three existing Galaxy S26 phones or wait to find out if an Edge appears later. If the S26 Ultra is your top choice (as we think it should be), our hands-on with the phone could tell you all you need to know. And if you’re deciding between the S26 Ultra and the Pixel 10 Pro XL, we have a comparison review of the two models that might help you to decide.
