As Octopath Traveler 2’s many fans will tell you, it was one of 2023’s biggest surprise hits, turning out to be a far better game than its solid-yet-unexceptional critic scores would suggest, and soon, it will seemingly become playable for an even wider pool of players. Last year, Square Enix said that the game would be releasing for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S at some point in 2024, and it seems its release is soon approaching.
As per known Xbox insider eXtas1s on the Exputer forums, Octopath Traveler 2 will launch for Xbox consoles sometime this month, though a specific release date is unknown. As previously announced by Square Enix, the RPG will also be available day one with Game Pass. Interestingly enough, as per the insider, Square Enix will also bundle that with a Game Pass launch for the original Octopath Traveler as well.
Presumably that means we’re headed for an official announcement in the near future- perhaps at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9? Stay tuned for more updates.
