In summary:

  • Tech Advisor highlights Motorola’s new Signature flagship phone, featuring an ultra-thin 6.99mm design with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip and triple 50Mp camera system.
  • The device offers premium specifications including a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 165Hz refresh rate, 5,200mAh battery, and seven years of Android updates.
  • Starting at £899.99 in the UK this February, the Signature replaces Motorola’s Edge Ultra line as their top non-foldable smartphone offering.

Motorola has announced a brand new Signature flagship phone at CES 2026, and it looks to be a skinny phone without the usual compromises.

It’s far from a surprise, given the number of leaks and rumours we had been hearing in the lead up to CES, but the Motorola Signature smartphone is now official – and it’s looking very sharp indeed.

Taking the place of the former Edge Ultra line (last seen in 2024 with the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra) at the top of the company’s non-foldable phone range, the Motorola Signature promises “world-class refinement” and the first ultra-thin form factor in its category.

To be clear, we’re not talking ultra-thin in the iPhone Air or Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge sense. But at 6.99mm and 186g, it’s thinner and lighter than your average full-sized flagship phone, while still retaining Motorola’s luxurious curved-screen shape.

It follows in the footsteps of the Edge 70, you get IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings, as well as MIL-STD-810H certification, so don’t expect this slender handset to crack under the first hint of pressure.

Motorola Signature specs

The really important distinction here is that the Motorola Signature doesn’t appear to sacrifice anything major in terms of hardware. It still packs a 5,200mAh battery which, until fairly recently, would have been considered larger-than-average for a phone of this kind.

You also get a full triple 50Mp camera system, which includes a 50Mp f/1.6 Sony Lytia 828 main camera. That’s the very same sensor that you’ll find in the brilliant Oppo Find X9 Pro.

This is backed by a 50Mp Sony Lytia 600 3x periscope telephoto camera, and a 50Mp ultra-wide. The selfie camera uses a 50Mp Sony Lytia 500 sensor.

The Motorola Signature’s display is quite the head-turner too – a 6.8-inch 1264 x 2780 AMOLED with an extra-speedy 165Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness hits an impressive 6200 nits, and there’s Dolby Vision support too. Pantone Validated Display Calibration is also provided.

Sound output is provided by a pair of stereo speakers with Bose technology, while the Signature also boasts Dolby Atmos support.

Motorola Signature performance and availability

Performance levels won’t quite be up there with the very best, but the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip remains a strong performer. It’s backed by either 12 or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM.

With Motorola offering up to seven years of Android OS and security upgrades, 90W wired charging, and 50W wireless charging, this is looking to be a competitive flagship package.

It’s also quite keenly priced. The Motorola Signature goes on sale in the UK this February from £899.99, and will be available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage variants.
